15 years ago I began working in the crazy business of making games. It was at a studio called Silicon Dreams and we were part of the once mighty US Gold, who’d initially made their money importing American games to the UK, but were busy trying to go bust at that time. I didn’t actually keep track of the date of that day until four years ago, when I was about to start a new job. I knew the start date for that was close to my 11 year anniversary, so I looked it up.
That was when I realised that my game-play making start date was shared with a much more serious anniversary. So, although 15 years feels like a monumental milestone, I’ll leave my celebration for a couple of days, as a mark of respect.
